Pagani - Huayra Carbon Edition

Exactly one year after launching the Zonda’s replacement, Pagani has already readied the Huayra’s first special edition version that was introduced to the world at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Zonda R has been a key laboratory for the Huayra. The team was able to work on many projects at the same time driving on different tracks that occasionally came to meet by sharing engineering concepts, materials, safety and scientific or design studies.

The whole car is shaped as a wing so it was necessary to create a high front to reduce the length of the upper part of this wing to counteract lift.

Pirelli has created a very progressive tyre with a exceptional grip in all situations and with low rolling friction. Every aspect of safety was treated taking into account the dynamic by which most accidents with high performance rear engined cars occur.

The active suspension in the front and the 4 flaps allow to optimally balance the drag coefficient and downforce. Aside from this major asthetic change, the Huayra Carbon Edition maintains the standard luxurious amenities we saw in its more conventional edition, including a twin-turbocharged V12 engine capable of putting out a massive 700 horsepower and 730 pound-feet of tire-spinning torque resulting in a 0 – 60mph time under three seconds. With only 20 standard Huayra’s on the queue to be built each year, the Carbon Edition is truly a rarity.
