Sangwoo Lee’s VW Optism concept finds inspiration from optical art, a style that makes visual kinetics through optical illusion. Depending on the viewers perspective, the surface changes character making the facade an interactive sculpture of sorts. The directional lines can be found everywhere from the wheels to the seats as it continues the flow of movement to the interior.
Although this feature doesn’t have any real ties to the improved function of automobiles, the Volkswagen Optism car concept does focus on something that can be considered just as important: visual aesthetics.
